myStampBOX Design Team Call

myStampBOX is searching for additional members for their design team. We are interested in designers with a variety of styles who can creatively showcase myStampBOX designs in their cards, altered art and scrapbook layouts. No previous design team experience is necessary.

Team requirements:
* 4 projects per month
* 1 blog entry per month including photos of a project and instructions/tutorial
* Upload all projects to the myStampBox website gallery and 2 other online galleries
* Submit at least 4 projects per term for submission to print magazines of your choice
* Occasional help with additional design opportunities - new stamp sets, classes, newsletters, etc.

Team benefits:
*bio and picture on the website, with links to your blog
*a starter kit of stamp sets and additional stamp sets throughout your term
*other free scrapbooking supplies from product partners as they become available
*30% discount on purchased myStampBox stamps during your term

Term is 6 months, beginning October 1, 2009

Kim, good question - they're looking for people who incorporate stamps into Cards, layouts and altered projects, so try to send them a variety of samples with your application - not just 5 cards.

The other thing they look for is enthusiasm, they want people who are excited to be on the team and work with their products - they do NOT pick well known scrappers. They're looking for "real", everyday scrappers that will be able to honor their commitment to the team and create their projects on time. You don't have to be published or be on a bunch of other teams, althought if you are that's good too.

You can be on other teams, but they want exclusivity when it comes to stamps. Anyone who is already on a stamp DT probably wouldn't be chosen.

I wish I knew how to use my stamps for more than just the basics --- they sound like a wonderful company to work for! All you stampers should give it a go!

Kim, I have to agree with everyone else. I wasn't a "stamper" when I applied, and I still don't consider myself to be one. They want creative people who will use different techniques like embossing, layering, masquing, etc. I think you should give it a shot.

So, I decided to get my stamps out and see what I could do! I have to say, that I have been having some fun. I found a couple tutorials on different things and different tricks and I'm not scared any more! Don't know about the DT call --- but I am having fun playing around and seeing all the new possibilities!

Wendy--- what techniques to use you on your layouts with your stamps? Do you like to stamp directly on the layout --- or do you stamp - cut and adhere? I get kinda scared with the idea of stamping directly on there!

I do both, depends on the type of stamp. If I stamp directly on my layout and goof, I flip the cardstock over and use the other side or I creatively reposition my photos.

*Try stamping on a piece of scrap paper first to make sure you get good ink coverage.
*Stamp on a transparency and then position that where you're thinking of stamping to "test" out your image.
* Make your own stamp positioner with a few legos and a piece of glass or acrylic. Takes all the guesswork out of where your image will stamp.

just fun ideas...
*Stamp on cardstock to create your own pattern paper.
*Stamp overtop of your pattern paper to further embellish the images.
*Stamp on the backside of your pattern paper and cut out the image to use as a "diecut" on your layout. Great for simple images like butterflies or flowers.

I played with my stamps a bit more --- the title - the journaling block, the people, the heart and the film strips were stamps! I think I'm getting the hang of it!
