My son just got stung by wasps. They were in the woods across from our house. Next thing I know I see the boys running down ove the hill. My oldest got stung 7 times and his buddy got three bites. Wasps followed them right to the front door of the house!

ugh---that hurts. I hope all is well and there were no allergies involved. Try a pasty solution of water and baking powder --- just cake it on and let it sit there. Takes the sting out.

Ouch! Hope they're OK!
I've heard of lots of wasp stings this year - including both DH and my mom - and both are supposedly allergic and both did fine!Posted 10 months ago # -
Toothpaste works well for the sting too. I'm not sure why but it works.

Ouch! That doesn't sound good. My son got stung by a yellow jacket the other day and then dh did too later. The same son is the only one of the children ever stung. He got stung buy wasps 2 summers ago when my dad was using tractor to move wood around to make a big bonfire. My son and dh were carrying wood and both got stung. My son got stung twice, and he was not happy.
Is it baking powder or baking soda with water that you use? I used baking soda, and it made my son stop crying, so I figured it did something good.

OUCH!! Wasps are such nasty creatures! They sting unprovoked & will give chase!! My boys have both been stung before now, but thank goodness, no allergy problems! I'm allergic to bee stings but thankfully bee's only sting as a last resort, because they die afterwards.

ouch! Hope they are doing ok today and had no reactions to the stings.

My husband gets stung several times every summer - they are mud wasps & they build their nests in the ground. When he's weed wacking he'll hit a nest because they are hidden. Fortunately he's not allergic......but they hurt like H*#%!!!
There's a commercial played on the radio by a local pest control where a woman calls into the "help" line. She says that her husband just got stung by bees & they are chasing him. The man asks if he's okay & she says, "yes, I think so......but they ARE gaining on him".
Last summer I was in the kitchen doing dishes at the sink when my DH went running past the kitchen window. Within in seconds he went running past the window again....in the opposite direction. Then moments later he again runs past the window......well, this little commercial is playing in my head & I'm chuckling. Then I hear the front porch door slam & he's screaming. I am allergic so I need to keep my distance, but through the screen door I ask if he's okay (grabbing an ice pack at the same time) & I see he's stripping off his shirt. They flew up his shirt & were stinging him again & again. Once we stomped on the 1 culprit & made sure it was dead, he put the ice pack on & we were checking him over. That's when I knew he was okay & I started to giggle.....again....(a reaction I have quite frequently with him after he's been hurt, but I know he's okay)......he looks at me & asks what's so funny. I told him that the woman's voice from that commercial was running through my head as I watched him run 3 times past the window!
He couldn't help it then either - he started laughing too!Posted 10 months ago # -

My friend has a infestation at her house this summer. Once while we over for a visit the lawn people were there to do the lawn and I guess the vibrations set them off before it was all said and done 4 different people got stung. She had to call an exterminator to treat her attic that's were they were nesting. Crazy.
