Since we're all getting to know each other, I thought it would be fun to find out how we all got started in scrapping. I'm a relative "newbie", since I only started in Feb 2005 and even then I just kind of dabbled for a year or so. We moved to the US from Canada in 2000, and now that my kids were getting older my DH wanted me to find a fun hobby to keep my busy since I don't have many local friends. I saw Lisa Bearnson on QVC and thought that the products looked kind of fun so I ordered a couple of things. One day I made a trip to Micheals and bought a small kit in a box by Westcraft. We live in a small town in the midwest, where believe it or not, scrapping is NOT that popular. The only 2 LSS we had in our town both closed down after less then a year in business. I've never been invited to a CM or SU party. I'm self taught by TV, videos and of course, magazines. My oldest DD is now in 2nd grade and I haven't yet found a Mom in any of her classes that is a scrapper. How crazy is THAT?
In the last 8 months I've become addicted - I have a full blown scrap room, stocked full with supplies and I can't stop buying even though I have enough to last me for a long, longgggggg time. I even got to attend CHA this year, which was like a child getting to go to Santa's Workshop. LOL.
So how about you? What was it about scrapping that caught your attention?
