Anyone here do any gardening. What's your favorite kind of plants? This morning picked up some marigolds and daisy's, and other plants to put in. I'm hoping that these flowers will bloom all summer long.

I'm hoping to have my front and flower gardens blooming pretty this year. Also, dh has started his veggie garden. I love the cucumbers and tomatoes! Also, we plant pumpkins, watermelons, peppers, beans, peas, onions, beets, and we're even trying corn this year.

Not this year! Moving home in early July just doesn't amke for a long enough grow season in the PNW. However, we are leaving behind herbs and sunflowers here.

We don't do much with vegetables in our garden; it's enough to deal with the flowers and weeds.

I love to plant flowers. I don't have any where for veggies, but I do grow chives and Basil in pots. I LOVE impaitients they grow like 2 feet tall for me so I plant those and then this diasy type plant-forgot the name and I planted these others ones that are new this year forgot the name too, but theya re being BADLY eaten by pill bugs so if spraying them doesn't work I'll pull them and plant more impaitients.

I try and usually have big ideas and great intentions. Then the weather gets hot and we get busy and things don't get watered ----well, you know what happens then!

Our summer garden has watermelon, canteloupe, cucumber, tomatoes, and strawberries. I have already picked strawberries and out tomato plants have LOTS of green tomatoes, just waiting for them to ripen now For the fall garden I want to plant some corn, green beans, and kohlorabi. I do have a flowerbed around three sides of the house that grows year round. I am working on getting that to be self maintaining so I don't have to do a lot of work on it.

I wish I liked it, but I can't stand bugs. I would like to add some more flowers to my garden this year though.

It's so hot down here and I get eaten alive by bugs and then there are the allergy symptomps that kick up so I don't do much at all. I have some hibiscus, trumpet vines and black trumpet vines in the back yard that I've planted. Then there's the huge bougainveilla over the gate between the front and back yards. We have a mango tree on the side of the house that has the most delicious mangoes you ever tasted. And then in the front and side yards there's a couple of green bushes, a couple more bougainveillas and a couple more trumpet vines. None of these need anything but the sprinklers running on a regular basis and an occasional trim which DH does. I also have two pots on my front porch with orchids that I have raised for years. They don't take much effort either. I just make sure they get watered on a fairly regular basis and give them some fertilizer once or twice a year.

I'd LOVE to have a vegetable garden, but we aren't very good at gardening and have managed to kill everything we've grown. And we don't know how to keep the bugs and lizards out of the herbs so I don't grow them. But fresh, vine-ripened tomatoes are the BEST!!! I really miss them!
