We are getting a new Red Robin in town and they sent out cards to various people in the area to come in for a "free" meal during their training period. It was a great time and the price was right...even though it was a bit slow. We had to call for a reservation to get in.

Everyone got a free meal of their choice. They brought us a free Speckled Lemonade, a free Raspberry Limeade, a free milkshake and a free hot fudge sundae for the kids. If you bought a cocktail or beer all the profits went to a local charity.

I thought is was a great idea and what a nice thing for the company to do especially in this economy. Have you ever heard of anything like this or done anything like this?

When Panera went in at the mall ---they gave out Panera bucks --like $5 to every person to use in the first 3 training days. It was yummy!

Several years ago a new BBQ place went in and they let the employees of the corporation my DH works for all go in and eat for free while they were training.

They opened a "Las Palmas" Mexican Restaurant in our town a few months ago and they sent "invitations" to a grand opening night and we got one - it was from 7pm until 10pm and all food and non-alcoholic drinks were free. You didn't order off the menu thought, they brought you trays of food so that you could sample a bunch of different things - it was a great way to do it and we left stuffed.
