what's a quick/easy/inexpensive recipe you can share? everyone's pinching pennies....so let's share a quick easy favorite meal today

Here's mine.....it's more for when the weather gets warmer, but we had it this winter because Patrick couldn't wait until spring....it sounds like a ton of food, but then you have leftovers...and it lasts a few days....saving you even more $. Mine is really basic because that's how I've always made it.....I made it for Karl like 12 years ago and it's just stayed that way -- you can add whatever you want to it...but in summer it's refreshing and not heavy.

    1 box of pasta
2 packs of tuna in water (about 12-13 oz of tuna total)
3 or 4 cucumbers chopped (you can leave skins on or not)
and low fat mayo.....this is your preference....using as little or much as you like....I keep cutting back a little more each time....and so far they haven't noticed!

cook the pasta and drain and rinse.
use a big bowl - and add 1/3 pasta, 1/3 tuna and 1/3 cucumbers......and some mayo.....mix together.....and then keep mixing the rest of ingredients in together until the salad is all blended together.

That sounds yummy! There is nothing we like better in our house than Spaghetti with meat sauce ---- we make a huge pot at a time and have it for the whole week.

I make our own pasta sauce. We use the lean ground beef and a huge can of crushed tomatoes with basil. Chop up an onion and cook it with the ground beef. Once the meat is browned then add the crushed tomatoes.

I make it the same way anazelia does, except I use oregano instead of basil.

Ohh small shell sounds good too. This sounded so good that I told my DH about it, but he's not a big mayo person so he thought it sounded gross. I on the other hand think it sounds great and may just have to make me some tomorrow!

Actually Helen I think the tomatos we use have both oregano and basil.

Yesterday I had some friends over and we made up over 400 perogies. A couple of hours work pays of with several gallon sized bags of perogies in the freezer. They cook up in 5 min and are a great low fat meal! And they're CHEAP! When homemade they are about $1.50 a dozen!

    I LOVE PEROGIES!

Leah, I usually use the twisty pasta...rotini, but it works with pretty much any pasta and like I said you can add/delete whatever you want.
