I just finished my LOVE mini-album and it was a total blast! It was like a puzzle - trying to get the photos I wanted on the correct pages, and having some photos "peek" out before the pages are turned. Very cool. I'm sure DH will love it. I'll try to get pics up tonight or tomorrow.
Can I tell you, though? Paper scrapbooking is harder than it looks! My hat is off to all of you ladies! I felt like I was coloring with the fat crayons... I had to do things in the right order, or pray that the Modge Podge hadn't set yet... and I had to wash my hands all the time... I swear, I used every tool in the house. Seriously - on my table I have ruler, paint brush, emory board, buttons, pins and needles, pliers, fray check, and a dremel tool.
Since I don't do this very often, I threw everything I had at it. Even used the sewing machine. I didn't have any "ink" or "chalk", so I pretty much sanded everything and left it "natural" or used a sharpie. Not bad in a pinch.
I also learned what the word "embellishment" means: stuff you put over your mistakes. (at least, that's what it means to me!!)
Plus, you'll all be happy to know that I (finally) got the year right... I was so proud that I wrote "2009" all over everything! (just kidding - I know it's 2008) A big thanks to Amy, Donna, Kim, and Marci for the inspiring layouts in the gallery AND for emergency advice on techniques.
